Not so long ago, audiences had three places to check out their favorite shows. Down the dial, there was a network, higher up you had basic cable, and for violence, language, and no commercials there were the premium networks. Enter the Streaming Networks. With streaming, there’s many more options and a seemingly endless supply of new entertainment. The three main players with the most content that is here to stay are former red envelope delivery service Netflix, the largest warehouse of books, appliances, and diapers Amazon, and the place you watched network shows a day after they aired Hulu.
Since the city of Los Angeles offers robust tax credits, all three streaming services have productions here in town and have chosen to film at LACS.
Hulu’s Runaways shot here for their second season, which premiered last month right before the holidays. The comic book adaptation follows a group of teenagers who unite against their criminal parents. It was created by Josh Schwartz (The OC) and Stephanie Savage and is based on the critically acclaimed Marvel comic series by Brian K. Vaughn
Netflix’s 1980s professional wrestling comedy Glow hit the mat hard and bounced right back into the arms of rabid viewers. Renewed for a third season late, the series was created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch and stars Alison Brie. Production is now underway for another batch of episodes featuring your favorite Glorious Ladies Of Wrestling.
Amazon’s fantasy family series, Just Add Magic, based on the book by Cindy Callaghan also cast a spell on the LACS campus. The recently wrapped third season premieres tomorrow February 1st.
We’re so honored to have so many amazing productions film here. Learn more about our studio space options on our main site.
